Mike Blanc - Campus Director & Football Chaplain, University of Miami

Mike hails from Broward County, FL where he was born and raised. As a student athlete at Deerfield Beach High School, he worked hard and graduated in 2006. His hard work on and off the field paid off and Mike chose to attend Auburn University on a full football scholarship.

While there, his passion for Christ led him to join FCA where God blessed and used him in the role of president of the ministry. As a student athlete, he helped to lead his teammates in an undefeated season, the 2010 SEC championship, and the 2011 BCS National Championship. To cap it all off, Mike graduated from Auburn with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.

He was then drafted into the NFL and played for the San Diego Chargers and the Pittsburg Steelers. From the beginning, Mike’s number one desire was to serve Christ as he let God lead his steps back to Florida.

Avery Jones - Area Representative

Avery’s life’s mission is to know Him and make Him known. He has a love for the lost and desires to influence his world by influencing the influencers for Christ.

Avery is married to his high school sweetheart, Linda, and is the father of 3 – twins Nathanial and Kristen, and Jamie. Born in Kittery, Maine, his family took residence in Florida where he attended Miami Killian Senior High School, University of Florida and graduated with a BA from Florida International University. Avery was part of the school marching band.

What you would not know by looking at Avery is that he can run long distances (he has a few half marathons under his belt), and he knows how to fly an airplane (was a recreational pilot). Some of Avery’s favorites are: basketball, all things Gators, and his favorite bible verse is John 3:17 - For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the World but to save that which was lost.

What Avery would tell his younger self is “God’s got you so just go for it, it all works for good.”
